CLIENT:
Our client is a specialist division of a leading Tier 1 fit-out contractor, delivering refurbishment and interior projects valued up to £5M. Operating primarily through long-term framework agreements within the Higher Education and Banking sectors, the business undertakes a diverse range of schemes. This can range from live critical environment upgrades to the fit-out of new commercial, workplace, and communal spaces. The team is recognised for delivering projects within occupied and operational environments, with a strong emphasis on quality, programme management, and minimal disruption to end users.
THE ROLE
The Technical Services Manager will oversee the technical delivery and service operations within all construction projects. This role ensures that all technical aspects of projects – from design coordination through to installation, commissioning, and ongoing support – are delivered to the highest standards. Acting as the bridge between project teams, clients, and subcontractors, the Technical Services Manager will play a key role in driving quality, compliance, and efficiency across the business.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Lead the MEP strategy, coordination, and delivery across complex fit-out and refurbishment projects, including works within live and critical operational environments.
* Manage design integration with architectural and structural elements; oversee clash detection and spatial coordination (BIM).
* Oversee MEP subcontractors, ensuring quality, safety, and compliance with UK Building Regulations.
* Coordinate procurement and installation of mechanical, electrical, and public health services in live and constrained environments.
* Plan and oversee testing, commissioning, and handover of all building services systems.
* Act as key interface between design consultants, site teams, and client stakeholders.
* Mitigate technical risks relating to existing services, legacy systems, and retained building elements.
