LCO EPR Expansion Senior Digital Integration Specialist
A senior digital integration specialist role at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust, focusing on the Hive LCO expansion programme.

Key Responsibilities
Work with the Senior Integration Lead/Architect to deliver strategic roadmap and support group digital strategy.
Plan, coordinate, develop, and supervise all activities related to the integration of software programs, applications, and third‑party solutions to meet Trust requirements.
Support the integration of new technology and releases of software, ensuring compatibility and alignment with Trust protocols and policies.
Engage with enterprise architects and provide guidance on software solutions.
Manage and coordinate integration work and staff to ensure designs are implemented correctly.
Ensure procedures support successful running of the service, delivering high‑quality outputs and training the team.
Engage and influence key stakeholders across the Trust to deliver complex solutions supporting strategic objectives.
Provide expertise within Group Digital Services across the delivery lifecycle, maintaining the application integration architecture blueprint.
Create high‑ and low‑level integration solution designs aligning with development roadmap and group digital strategy.
Additional Duties
* Assist in the development of an MFT architecture strategy, setting principles and guidelines for enterprise architecture across clouds, data & analytics, AI, integration, application, and infrastructure.
Person Specification
Knowledge and Experience
* Extensive experience designing, developing, testing and managing interfaces using Intersystems HealthShare and Epic Bridges toolsets.
* Advanced software development skills using Cach ObjectScript in a business environment.
* Extensive knowledge of HL7 v2/v3, XML, HL7‑CDA, DICOM and FHIR messaging with NHS data and workflows.
* Substantial experience managing Intersystems Cach/IRIS integration server platform.
* Extensive experience conducting in‑depth technical analysis for integrating hospital clinical systems through messaging & interfaces.
* Extensive experience delivering integration solutions, software products, and accompanying application configurations in a healthcare setting.
* Good working knowledge of common patient visit workflows and events that drive NHS data flow through interfaces/messages.
* Extensive experience working with system users, suppliers and subject‑matter experts throughout interface delivery cycles.
* Extensive experience utilising and producing technical documentation.
* Extensive experience solving complex and multi‑stranded IT issues.
* Substantial experience in an IT management role.
* Substantial experience of IT project management, including contribution to business cases and production of relevant documentation.
* Previous experience in NHS or similar healthcare IT environment.
* Knowledge of enterprise architecture, systems architecture, integration architecture and data architecture standards, frameworks and best practices.
* Good working knowledge of business workflows in key clinical areas (e.g., ED, Laboratory, Radiology, Pharmacy).
* Good working knowledge of SQL and an industry‑standard relational database management system such as Oracle or SQL Server.
* Experience in the 2nd or 3rd line IT support.
* Experience of service‑oriented architecture delivery.

Other Requirements
* Be part of on‑call rota.
* Ability to undertake shift working including out‑of‑hours, weekends and public holidays.
* Ability to travel to all sites within the MFT and other reference sites.
* Previous experience of undertaking IT on‑call responsibilities.
* Previous experience of undertaking integration platform upgrades.
* Previous experience of supporting hospital EPR system upgrades.
Qualifications
* A UK Master's degree in a Computer Science or related subject.
* A UK Master's degree equivalent qualification or experience in large‑scale, complex IT solution implementations involving integration/interoperability.
* Intersystems HealthShare Development certification or equivalent experience.
* Epic Bridges certification.
* Certification in other InterSystems product toolset e.g., Cach server administration and Cach ObjectScript.
* EPIC specialist certification in clinical modules e.g., Beaker/Radiant/Cupid/Willow.
* Prince 2 accreditation; familiarity with Agile.

£57,528 to £64,750 per annum (Pro Rata)
