Fixed Term/Secondment Band 7 Sister / Charge Nurse – 30 hours (0.8)

A rare and exciting opportunity is available for a Band 7 Sister post to cover 1-year fixed term/secondment at 30 hours a week.

Puzzle Wood is a small but collaborative, dynamic and passionate team who work with all specialties, working Monday to Friday between 0800 – 1800 (not including BH)

We are a Day Case unit which provides a nurse led service to assess, plan, deliver and evaluate prescribed treatment, providing care for patients and their families/carers. This may cover intravenous therapy to patients, as well as specialist tests i.e. Food challenges, Glucose Tolerance Test, Synacthen Tests, Enzyme replacement therapy, as well as coordinating a high turnover of patients attending hot clinics and Rapid Access Clinics. We support carrying out cannulation, venepuncture as well as supporting sedation procedures and dressings.

The successful candidate must have good leadership skills with some managerial experience. They will be driven and motivated with a passion to provide high quality, efficient care within Ambulatory. They will also have ability to communicate well with the whole range of colleagues within the MDT as well as the patients and their families/carers.

You will continue to support in the vision to help develop the ambulatory service.

Professional

· To ensure that registration with the NMC of all staff members within the team is maintained.

· To be aware of and adhere to the NMC Code of Professional Conduct for nurses, midwives and health visitors.

· To take personal responsibility for his/her own professional development and updating. This includes remaining up to date with changing clinical practice and undertaking further training as necessary

· To participate in education, teaching and research, as necessary, and to promote these skills within the team.

· To co-operate with other healthcare professionals and to gain an understanding of their professional role and responsibilities.

· To maintain his/her appearance and behaviour in accordance with the standards expected of a member of the nursing profession.

· To ensure that the professional update requirements for all trained staff are assessed and recorded annually following individual employee development reviews.

· To provide professional leadership to the multidisciplinary team, actively participating in the support and the implementation of the Trust’s Nursing and Midwifery Strategy
