Job overview
An excellent rare opportunity to work with the cardiac rehabilitation nurse team providing administrative support, answer help line telephone, organise appointments, organise and maintain database for National Audit for Cardiac Rehabilitation (NACR) audit.
Main duties of the job
To provide secretarial and administrative support to the cardiac rehabilitation team, including organising cardiac rehabilitation appointments. Establish, maintain and input data for cardiac rehabilitation audits, including the National Audit for Cardiac Rehabilitation (NACR). Conduct audit, issue questionnaires, assess responses, coordinate data for submission to NACR. Frequently respond to calls from distressed patients and relatives in a sensitive manner. Obtain investigation results from Cardiology dept. Check all correspondence for urgent matters and respond accordingly. Liaise with primary and tertiary care, including other cardiac rehabilitation teams and the heart failure team. Retrieve notes from medical records and ensure correct tracking of the notes in and out of the department using the hospital PAS system. Register and raise notes on the system when required. Effectively manage filing systems, information retrieval and stock control where appropriate, ordering stationery, patient leaflets, etc. Contribute to policy development as required. Attend and participate in departmental planning meetings.

Person specification
Qualifications
* GCSE English language (minimum grade C) or equivalent
* ECDL or equivalent
* NVQ level 3 in Business Administration

Experience
* Recent administration or secretarial experience.

* Understanding of the requirements of the Data Protection Act, Freedom of Information Act, access to health records and defensible documentation, health and safety legislation, and their application in the workplace.
