Salaried General Practitioner – Bromleag Care Practice


Job Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Bromleag Care Practice for a salaried GP to join our growing multi‑disciplinary team. This post holder will work as one of a team of GPs, ANPs, pharmacists and more, delivering general practice services to patients at Bromleag Care Practice. We provide comprehensive primary care to patients residing in Care Homes and Extra Care Housing within the Borough of Bromley. At all times the post holder must act in a professional manner consistent with the NHS code of conduct.

* Pay: Up to £12,000 per session per annum depending on experience
* Contract: Permanent
* Working pattern: Part‑time, 3 sessions per week

Job Description – Responsibilities

* Provide proactive and accessible care to patients in Care Homes and Extra Care Housing, including home visits, telephone & video consultations, prescription handling and timely paperwork.
* Maintain clear, contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards.
* Undertake clinical letters, summary dictation and ensure clinical governance and risk management principles are applied.
* Comply with all relevant practice policies and guidelines (KPIs, prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, health and safety).>
* Commit to life‑long learning, audit and contributions to evaluation/audit and clinical standard setting within the organisation.
* Summarise patient records, read‑coding patient data and develop computer‑based patient records.
* Attend training and events organised by the practice or other agencies where appropriate.
* Complete death certificates in a timely manner consistent with legal requirements.
* Make autonomous professional decisions regarding presenting problems, whether self‑referenced or referred within the organisation.
* Screen patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.
* Ensure the highest standard of patient care through expert knowledge and clinical skill assessment, implementation and monitoring.


Person Specification – Qualifications

* GMC Registered
* MBBS or equivalent medical degree
* MRCGP
* Inclusion on the Performers List
* MPS/MDUS/MDDUS membership


Person Specification – Experience

* Knowledge and experience of general practice in the UK
* Full and independent responsibility for patient clinical careli>
* Safe oversight and shared care with nursing and other staff
* Experience working with non‑career grade staff, registrars and specialist nurses
* Broad understanding and commitment to Clinical Governance principles
* Patient‑centred approach to care and good management of patient care
* Excellent communication skillsclinical staff
* Excellent IT skills
* Desirable: Knowledge of EMIS and experience in a primary care area with significant health problems


Person Specification – Essential Communication & Skills

* Caring attitude to patients
* Clear personal interactive communication skills
* Acceptance of management and administrative duties within a structured team
* Effective communication with patients, relatives, GPs, nurses and agencies
* Commitment to Continuing Medical Education and Clinical Governance
* Flexible working attitude


Person Specification – Essential Organisational Skills

* Maintain confidentiality and handle confidential information appropriately
* Maintain safe and secure work areas
* Report and investigate security breaches as applicable
* Report changes to records/Information assets to the manager


Person Specification – Essential Specialist Knowledge/Skills

* Excellent knowledge of NHS mechanisms and processes
* Full UK driving licence


Additional Criteria

* Work as part of a team to ensure QOF targets are met
* Participate in weekly multidisciplinary team meetings, time in meetings and clinical audit where required
* Liaison with voluntary agencies and multi-disciplinary teams in both community and secondary care
