Job Summary
Advanced Supply Chain are looking to welcome a detail oriented Planning Manager who is able to lead and define resource requirements for the site based off customer volume forecasts. This is a full-time permanent position at our Sheffield site, and in return you will be paid a competitive salary of between £35,000 - £45,000 depending on experience.
As our Planning Manager, you will have a solid understanding of planning resources and forecasting trends and patterns in the warehouse to achieve maximum efficiency and productivity in site operations. You will be responsible for creating accurate short, medium and long term plans for the site. You will be supported by the site General Manager and together ensure that the overall site planning is accurate and reflects real time data, including staffing, space and equipment planning, whilst providing commercial insight to the wider team.
Key responsibilities of our Planning Manager:
1. Creation of short, medium and long-term plans based on customer volumes to provide the site with accurate information
2. Creating a daily productivity analysis and providing insights and recommendations on issues raised
3. Checking and monitoring the accuracy of customer forecasts
4. Creation of dashboards with plan/actual comparisons that show deviations in volumes and costs
5. Providing innovative and flexible solutions to ensure that the planned volumes meet customer requirements and that the profitability of the site is maintained
6. Work with the General Manager to understand planning requirements and translate business objectives into a commercially viable workforce plan
Skills and experience we need from our Planning Manager:
7. Advanced knowledge in the use of Excel, VBA and/or analytical SQL or comparable knowledge
8. Understanding of financial reporting and commercial awareness
9. Experience in the logistics or 3PL industry
10. Experience with warehouse management systems
11. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
