At our ARU Writtle campus, we specialise in animal, environmental, agricultural and horticultural courses, for learners aged 16 to 18, adult learners, undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
About the Role:
Based in our School of Agriculture, Animal and Environmental Sciences at the Writtle Campus, you will focus on developing research outputs in Sustainable Agriculture and Smart Agriculture. Your work will include delivering high-quality research projects and controlled environment agriculture showcases. You will also play a key role in the administrative management of the Sustainable Agriculture Group, ensuring our research continues to provide a platform for cutting-edge studies in crop production, resource efficiency, and agri-tech innovation.
With a PhD in a relevant field such as Protected Horticulture or Sustainable Agriculture; postdoctoral experience in a related area is desirable. You will have demonstrable experience of working in applied research for the development of advanced controlled environment agriculture systems. A sound understanding of computational science, including AI, IoT, and digital twins, will be an advantage. Supervisory skills and experience in guiding students or junior researchers are also desirable
