Sellick Partnership is excited to be working with a top-tier Legal 500 firm who are looking for an NQ Employment Solicitor to join their team in Chelmsford.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Provide advice to clients across a range of sectors including education, financial services, construction, agriculture, charities, and the public sector.
* Handle day-to-day employment law queries on contracts, maternity rights, disciplinary matters, and workplace procedures.
* Draft and review employment-related documentation such as contracts of employment, service agreements, staff handbooks, and HR policies.
* Assist with the employment law aspects of corporate transactions, including due diligence and post-completion support.
* Support and advise on redundancy processes, restructuring exercises, and TUPE transfers.
* Work on contentious matters such as unfair and wrongful dismissal, discrimination claims, and employment tribunal proceedings.
* Advise on the enforcement and defence of restrictive covenants.
* Act for senior executives on contractual negotiations, terminations, and severance packages.
* Provide support in matters involving trade unions, collective issues, and professional conduct or disciplinary proceedings.
* Contribute to business development activities, including attending networking events, client seminars, and supporting marketing initiatives.
* Help build the firm’s profile in the employment law market through client engagement and relationship-building.
The successful candidate:
* Experience from a reputable training seat or post-qualification experience within a well-established regional, national, or City law firm.
* Demonstrated interest and aptitude in business development, with the ability to identify and capitalise on growth opportunities.
* Commitment to consistently producing high-quality legal work and accurate documentation.
* Flexible and adaptable approach to workload management, ensuring client deadlines are met and communication is timely and clear.
