Aneurin Bevan University Health Board supports flexible working.

There is a temporary top-up for Bands 2 and 3 reflecting the incorporation of the top-up to the living wage of £12.60 per hour (£24,638 per annum). This top-up will be in place until the 2025/26 pay uplift is confirmed.

Job Overview

This post is fixed term for up to 9 months to meet the needs of the service.

The Performance Analyst will support reporting processes across the Regional Cataracts Project and lead in cataracts performance reporting for the organization. Based within the Planning and Performance Team, this is an opportunity to bring together data from across Aneurin Bevan, Cwm Taf Morgannwg, and Cardiff and Vale. The post holder will play a key role in driving improvement, reporting, and providing insights to support decision-making to improve performance, understanding causes and effects of changes to inform service delivery across three Health Boards and private sector partners.

This is a fixed-term role. English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Main duties of the job

* Work to achieve objectives within broad professional policies, independently without direct supervision.
* Develop reports and provide evidence for strategic and operational decisions to inform short, medium, and long-term planning.
* Collaborate with three health boards and private providers, using appropriate reporting methods for data collection, analysis, and interpretation.
* Develop innovative approaches to performance activity and engage partners effectively.

Qualifications

Essential:

* Degree-level education or equivalent experience.
* Postgraduate qualifications or equivalent performance management experience.

Desirable:

* Knowledge of Aneurin Bevan University Health Board.
* Knowledge of health inequalities.

Experience

Essential:

* Experience in an information/performance management role.
* Experience communicating complex information to diverse audiences.
* Influencing skills with non-line-managed staff.
* Understanding of current health and care issues.
* Knowledge of NHS performance agenda.

Desirable:

* Experience developing performance management systems/frameworks.

Skills

Essential:

* Advanced IT and analytical skills, including Microsoft Office and statistical/BI tools.
* Ability to interpret and communicate performance data effectively.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Negotiation skills with senior managers.
* Independent working capability.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and demands.

Desirable:

* Knowledge of SQL.
* Commitment to self-development.
* Knowledge of performance management frameworks and tools.
* Experience with Business Intelligence software.

Other

Essential:

* Risk identification and problem-solving abilities.
* Ability to understand complex information quickly and make decisions.
* Critical thinking skills.
* Ability to analyze facts and develop options.
* Decision-making skills on contentious issues.
* Willingness to travel and attend meetings.

Desirable:

* Ability to speak Welsh.
