Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Counter Staff member to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, preparing food items, and ensuring a clean and welcoming environment. This role offers an opportunity to develop culinary and hospitality skills within a dynamic setting. Prior experience in food service or restaurant environments is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided. The position is paid and suitable for individuals who enjoy working in a customer-focused environment.
Monday to Friday only, no weekends or evenings required.
Duties
* Take customer orders accurately and efficiently at the counter
* Prepare and serve hot and cold food items in accordance with health and safety standards
* Handle cash transactions and operate POS systems with basic maths skills
* Maintain cleanliness of the counter area, including sanitising surfaces and utensils
* Assist in food preparation tasks as required, ensuring quality standards are met
* Provide friendly and professional service to all customers, addressing any queries or concerns
* Support the team during busy periods by managing multiple tasks effectively
* Follow food safety regulations at all times, ensuring proper storage and handling of ingredients
Skills
* Previous experience in food preparation or restaurant service is desirable but not essential
* Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in a kitchen environment
* Strong organisational skills with excellent time management abilities
* Ability to work efficiently whilst maintaining attention to detail
* Good communication skills to interact confidently with customers and team members
* Basic maths proficiency for handling transactions accurately
* Experience in serving customers
* Culinary or kitchen experience is advantageous for supporting food preparation tasks
