Fane Valley has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual to join our team as Veterinary Advisor based in Moira.
The Role:
• Develop the farm advisory services for existing Fane Valley customers not currently receiving the service;
• Put into practice the correct management and preventative health strategies for Fane Valley’s customers;
• Work closely with a small number of farms, building a close and trusted relationship to make advisory changes for the best farm outcome;
• Support the Fane Valley Stores and Feeds network to enhance the complete Fane Valley Services to farmers.
The Person:
• Candidates will be educated to degree level in veterinary science or medicine and registered as a member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (MRCVS);
• Have a minimum of 3 years’ experience of working in large animal practice and have developed a strong reputation as a leading Veterinary Practitioner;
• Ability to understand and review technical information and reports to provide sound and correct recommendations for farmers;
• Ability to work independently and be a strong team member;
• Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
• Have excellent presentation skills and desirably have experience of presenting to farmer groups;
• Be IT literate and proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications;
• A strong commercial acumen with a proven track record in building customer relationships;
• A comprehensive understanding of the agricultural industry in Northern Ireland;
• Understand farmers needs and the motivation to adopt preventative solutions.
