Overview
The Medicine Division at North Bristol NHS Trust are offering a 3 month opportunity to lead Elgar Enablement Unit, a complex care ward. We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Senior Sister/Charge Nurse to lead our dedicated clinical team. The successful applicant will be a proactive leader with an interest in caring for the elderly care population, with the ability to deliver high quality, patient-centred care and to drive service development in a multi-disciplinary setting.
You will work with the Matron to promote a culture of staff involvement and service improvement, and take operational and clinical day-to-day management responsibility at team level using performance management systems. You will collaborate with others to meet the needs of patients and their families.
Responsibilities
* Line manage a team of nursing staff within the ward and work closely with the Matron to ensure efficient operation.
* Have overall responsibility for ensuring the clinical area is safe.
* Deputise for the Matron and be part of the Divisional senior nursing team.
* Contribute to the development of patient-centred services.
* Be responsible for attaining Trust and National quality and safety objectives within the area of responsibility.
* Provide expert clinical advice and care within the designated area of responsibility.
Requirements / Qualifications
* Degree and relevant post-registration qualification at level 3 / M (as applicable).
* Significant experience within the specialty and at least 3 years at Band 6 in a medical ward setting.
* Evidence of participating in quality improvement within the specialty.
* Evidence of MDT working / community / safeguarding / dementia experience.
* Leadership and management skills with the ability to lead and manage change; extended clinical roles and clinically credible practice.
* Research and audit experience and a commitment to ongoing professional development.
* Ability to motivate teams and work effectively with colleagues across disciplines.
