Base pay range

Salary: £30,000-£40,000, per year depending on experience
Role type: Permanent
Location: North Shields, field based with the requirement to occasionally work away from home depending on project location.
Reporting to: Installation Manager
A full, driver’s license is required for this role with 6 points or less.

The Role
We are seeking a skilled Heat Pump Installer to join our team, specializing in the installation and maintenance of air and ground source heat pump systems. The ideal candidate will have experience with renewable energy technologies and a strong background in plumbing and heating, including underfloor heating and unvented cylinders. Projects span domestic, commercial, and new-build sectors across Northern England, offering variety and the chance to work on innovative, sustainable energy systems.
Working Hours
Monday – Friday, 8:00-5:00pm
Responsibilities
* Install heat pump systems following manufacturer specifications and regulations.
* Perform maintenance and troubleshoot issues with heat pump systems.
* Conduct system testing and commissioning.
* Communicate with customers regarding installation and system operation.
* Maintain accurate records of work performed.
* Follow safety protocols and industry standards.
* Stay current with industry trends through ongoing training.
What We’re Looking For
* Qualified plumber, pipe fitter, or heating engineer with NVQ Level 2 in Plumbing and Unvented Hot Water Systems Regulations qualification.
* Experience installing unvented cylinders, radiators, and underfloor heating.
* Experience with air and/or ground source heat pump installations.
* Familiarity with minor electrical works is preferred.
Extra Credits
* Certifications such as HETAS, Gas Safe, F-Gas, or ventilation are highly beneficial.
* CSCS card.
