Crane Technician | Coatbridge| £28 > £30 per hour | 19-week initial contract with Permanent Opportunities
The Opportunity:
Ford and Stanley Talentwise is currently supporting a well‑established and highly regarded lifting and logistics business that is looking to strengthen its engineering team with the addition of an experienced Crane Technicians. This is a depot‑based role, offering long‑term stability, structured working patterns, and the chance to work on a large, modern fleet of cranes without the demands of constant site travel. The business is known for its strong engineering standards, investment in equipment, and commitment to doing jobs properly, making it a great environment for technicians who take pride in their work.
Key responsibilities:
Maintenance and servicing activities on Cranes
Accurately complete service reports, inspection records, and compliance documentation
Complete safety inspections, load testing, and commissioning of cranes following installation or major repair.
Liaise professionally with clients, site managers, and colleagues to explain faults, repairs, and maintenance requirements.
Candidate Essentials:
Proven experience working on cranes or heavy lifting equipment (mobile, tower, overhead, crawler, or similar).
Strong understanding of mechanical systems, with exposure to hydraulics, pneumatics and electrics.
Ability to carry out fault‑finding, diagnostics, repairs, and overhauls.
Experience with planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and breakdown repair.
Qualifications:
NVQ / SVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in:
Plant Maintenance
Mechanical Engineering
Heavy Vehicle Maintenance
LOLER / lifting equipment training (advantageous)
Electrical or hydraulic certification (beneficial)
