A Motherwell based housing support services company is looking to add Domestic/Cleaning Staff to its team. The company is a dedicated support, assisted living staff and cleaning company, operating in Scotland. The company is born out of a passion to support and care for vulnerable individuals and cater for the need of their clients. Their mission is to provide exceptional, person-cantered support services to individuals in need, including those experiencing homelessness, residing in hostels, or requiring assistance in supported accommodation. They are committed to delivering high-quality, compassionate care that empowers clients to achieve independence, dignity, and improved well-being.
The hours of work will range from 3 hours, 5 hours and 8 hour shifts
Shift pattern would vary on client demand however, regular shift hour for:
* Morning shift - 6:30 am to 9:30am
* Afternoon shift - 12:00 noon to 3:00pm
* Late shift - 4:00pm to 7:00pm
* However, these are subject to change based on clients’ request.
Hourly rate for the role is £12.60.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
* Carry out general cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting.
* Clean and sanitize toilets, washrooms, kitchens, and other communal areas.
* Empty and dispose of rubbish and recycling in designated bins.
* Replenish consumables such as soap, hand towels, and toilet rolls.
* Wipe down and disinfect frequently touched surfaces (e.g., door handles, light switches).
* Ensure cleaning equipment is properly used, maintained, and stored safely.
* Follow health, safety, and hygiene procedures at all times.
* Report any maintenance issues, hazards, or damages to the supervisor/manager.
* Work independently or as part of a team to complete cleaning schedules.
* Adhere to confidentiality and safeguarding requirements, particularly in sensitive environments (e.g., schools, care homes, offices).
* Previous experience in cleaning or willingness to learn.
* Ability to follow instructions and work to a set schedule.
* Knowledge of basic cleaning techniques and safe use of cleaning products.
* Understanding of health and safety regulations (e.g., use of PPE, COSHH awareness).
* Good attention to detail and commitment to high standards of cleanliness.
* Reliability, punctuality, and the ability to work independently.
* Physical ability to carry out manual tasks (e.g., lifting, bending, standing for long periods).
* Good communication skills for reporting issues and following guidance.
* Formal training or certification in cleaning, health & safety, or COSHH.
* Experience working in similar environments (e.g., offices, schools, healthcare, hospitality).
* Knowledge of infection control procedures.
* Ability to use a range of cleaning machinery (e.g., floor buffers, carpet cleaners).
* Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, or shifts as required.
* Team working experience in a facilities or support services environment.
