On behalf of our client, a premium consumer brand in a period of growth, we are looking for a Financial Controller to join their team in Warwickshire and support their CEO.
They are in a period of substantial growth, and are looking for a dynamic candidate who can take on the following:
* Oversee and manage all day-to-day finance operations, including AP, AR, bank reconciliations, system reconciliations and general ledger maintenance, supported by the finance administrator.
* Lead the month end process, ensuring timely and accurate management accounts, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow forecasts and prepare commentary for senior management and the board
* Analyse financial performance and variances against budgets and forecasts, providing insights and recommendations to senior management with sufficient detail e.g. volume, price, mix on revenue drivers and drivers of costs, including overheads.
* Short term cashflow management, manage the short/medium tern cashflow forecast ensuring sufficient cash reserves.
* Preparation of annual budgets and periodic latest estimates, working closely with department leads to ensure accuracy and alignment with objectives.
* Preparation and payment of monthly payroll.
* Review weekly payment run for authorisation by the CEO and transition to approvals at the PO stage.
* Co-ordinate and manage year-end processes and act as the main point of contact for the auditors.
* Manage preparation and submission of all tax fillings (VAT & duty payments).
* Manage relationships with accountants, tax advisors, auditors, bank and insurance company.
* Responsibility for company secretarial duties, including Co House filing etc.
* Manage shareholder relations & EMI scheme.
* Undertake ad hoc financial analysis and projects as requested by senior management.
* Ensure robust and appropriate internal controls are maintained and evolved
* Support business expansion projects, including new systems, processes, geographies, tax and reporting needs
* Collaborate with leadership to improve financial systems and processes in line with business scaling.
What we are looking for in a candidate:
* A qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA).
* Experience as Financial Controller in a fast growing SME desirable
* A great planner, to manage deadlines within the team and wider business.
* Somebody who is curious and wants to learn and discover.
* Tenacity - the ability to be flexible and bounce back from the unexpected
* The ability to connect the detail to the big picture and help communicate complex financial messages to senior stakeholders.
* Somebody who enjoys using technology and data to improve and streamline work.
* Strong IT skills including, Excel, Microsoft, Xero & Unleashed
* A positive can-do attitude and ability to prioritise
