About the Role
A fast-growing wealth management business is seeking an experienced and dynamic professional to lead its
Financial Planning Academy
. This role is central to the firm's growth strategy, designed to attract, train, and develop the next generation of financial planners and paraplanners.
The position offers the opportunity to
build an academy from the ground up
, ensuring high standards of training, compliance, and professional development across multiple UK locations.
The role is based primarily in
Northamptonshire three days per week
, with two days working remotely. From six months onwards,
regular national travel
will be required to support recruitment, training, and wider academy initiatives across regional offices.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Management
* Lead and grow the Financial Adviser Academy programme.
* Recruit, train, and develop aspiring financial advisers and paraplanners.
* Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and high performance.
* Set performance objectives, monitor progress, and deliver regular reviews.
Training & Development
* Design and deliver structured training programmes for new entrants and recently qualified advisers.
* Oversee selection, assessment, and onboarding processes.
* Provide mentoring and coaching to support long-term career development and retention.
* Ensure academy members remain up to date with industry regulations and best practice.
Business Development & Growth
* Build strategic plans to attract and retain top talent into the Academy.
* Develop partnerships with education providers and professional networks to strengthen early careers pipelines.
* Engage with internal and external stakeholders to integrate the Academy into wider business strategy.
* Represent the Academy across the industry to enhance visibility and reputation.
Compliance & Risk Management
* Ensure all training and development programmes meet
FCA and internal compliance standards
.
* Oversee T&C (Training & Competence) frameworks with compliance managers and supervisors.
* Implement robust risk management processes to protect clients and the business.
What We're Looking For
* Proven leadership experience in
financial planning, training, or academy/graduate programme management
.
* In-depth knowledge of financial planning and FCA regulatory requirements.
* A highly visible leader who can "live and breathe" the academy vision, with a willingness to travel extensively.
* Excellent communication, mentoring, and stakeholder engagement skills.
* A genuine passion for developing future financial planners and advisers.
