Job Description:
We're recruiting for an Authorisations Technical Consultant to join our authorisations team, which assists our Member Firms in becoming directly authorised with the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). The team offers an end-to-end FCA application service, liaising with the FCA and providing guidance and support throughout the process.
In this role, you'll liaise with firms and assist them in drafting policies and procedures required by FCA regulation, including policies related to Vulnerable Customers, Financial Crime, and Consumer Duty.
You will also coach firms and Principals regarding their regulatory obligations to prepare for Direct Authorization and FCA interviews.
Responsibilities include:
* Assist and support firms in their journey to Direct Authorization
* Provide consultancy support and assist with drafting key documentation such as Regulatory Business Plans, Compliance Monitoring Plans, and Financial Forecasts
* Build strong relationships with member firms and act as the key contact during the FCA authorization process
* Coach new member firms on regulatory requirements for SMF16 / 17 roles
* Review and guide firms on their policies and procedures
* Maintain knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry changes, and communicate these effectively
* Research and interpret FCA legislation and handbooks
* Have knowledge of Consumer Duty, Data Protection, Consumer Credit, JMLSG, and Financial Sanctions regulations
Qualifications and Skills:
* Experience in the UK financial services industry
* Relevant financial services qualifications (Level 4 desirable)
* Excellent customer support and technical skills
* Strong communication skills, including telephone manner
* Interpersonal and team working skills
* Problem-solving ability and collaboration
* Quick learner and effective communicator
* Training and development skills
* Organizational and planning skills
* Proactive, responsible, and results-driven
* IT literacy, especially MS Office
