The Role
Woodlands School, part of Marches Academy Trust, are seeking a caring, resourceful, reliable, self-motivated individual who will take pride in our school premises and grounds. You would be working in a team of 2. You must have the ability to work on your own initiative and have excellent organisational skills. Woodlands is a special school for pupils who have social, emotional and mental health needs. 37 hours per week – full year working
Roles and Responsibilities include:
* Responsibility for Health & Safety and Security of the school site, including locking and unlocking the school every day during term time and some weeks of the holidays
* Maintaining the school in an excellent condition both externally and internally
* Managing external contractors, servicing works and small projects
* Monitoring site stock and ordering supplies
* Minor repairs to include minor plumbing, joinery, electrical work, internal decoration and maintenance, painting and decorating
* Communicating effectively with a range of people including children, staff, visitors and external agencies
To be successful you will;
* Have experience of working in a security, safety or maintenance environment
* Have experience of Health & Safety, COSHH, IOSH
* Be able to show a knowledge of other trades e.g. plumbing, carpentry
* Be able to work constructively using own initiative in the absence of senior staff
