GIS graduates with an interest in programming are required to join a leading GIS company based in Stevenage. We’re offering the chance to be involved in the testing, production and lifecycle of desktop, server and web software.
Testing and evaluating software is crucial for our customers and reputation. Graduate GIS Engineers (QA) work in Quality Assurance to progress the development and releases of our spatial analysis software.
Whilst the company focus is on GIS, this position requires knowledge in supporting technologies such as Python, .NET languages, databases and SQL. Training will be provided to build and manage software installation packages and scripts.

Graduate GIS Engineer (QA) will be expected to:
* Design and develop software and automated procedures to test our products using programming skills in a Python environment
* Become proficient in testing our web, desktop and server GIS software
* Work with cloud hosted and containerised environments, testing setups, security, databases and configurations
* Run scheduled application and architecture penetration tests
* Build and maintain installer projects and scripts
* Provide technical assistance for the delivery of user documentation
* Contribute to Cadcorp research and development programs and projects to meet the company’s needs and to capitalise on potential new products and functionality.
* Record and communicate testing activities and results in oral and written formats.
The ideal candidate will have:
* Recently completed an undergraduate or postgraduate degree in GIS or similar
* Some experience or skills in Python, .NET and an aptitude for development
* Understanding of the use of databases
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Ability to work with and within teams from various departments
* Excellent communication and presentation skills
* An inquiring mind and aptitude for learning within a range of different subject areas
* An interest in spatial relationships and analysis
* Knowledge of cloud technologies and virtualisation
Location -Stevenage with working from home where appropriate
