Independent Chair of the Orkney Public Protection Committee

This is a temporary, self-employed position for 3 years, with a daily rate of £400, inclusive of travel expenses. Much of the role can be performed remotely, but attendance in Orkney may be required at times.
The role involves overseeing the delivery of public protection arrangements in Orkney, requiring significant experience in public protection, senior management, and knowledge of relevant policies and legislation. The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership, drive quality assurance, and work closely with various stakeholders.
The position requires a minimum commitment of 15 days per year, with notice of retirement from the post being 12 weeks to the Chief Executive. Applicants must hold a PVG membership statement for regulated work with adults and children.
