We’re recruiting a Senior Project Engineer (Mechanical bias) to join one of the UK’s largest and most respected M&E contractors on a data centre project for a global financial institution. Based in South Yorkshire this is an exceptional opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the rapidly growing data centre sector — one of the most in-demand and future-proof areas in the built environment.
About the Project
This is a high-profile, £35M programme of mechanical and electrical works at a live data centre. The initial phase runs for 18 months from Summer 2025, with significant potential for long-term work (up to 8+ years on site).
Key elements include:
* Major chilled water system upgrades and plant replacements
* Full MEP refurbishment of a critical computer room
* Live-site delivery within a highly secure, operational environment
You’ll play a crucial role in managing complex mechanical systems and supporting the integration of critical infrastructure services.
What We’re Looking For
* Experienced Senior Project Engineer with a mechanical background
* Strong MEP project experience (data centres, hospitals, etc.) preferred
* Excellent coordination, leadership, and communication skills
* Confident working in live environments with critical services
