The Opportunity
We are offering an excellent opportunity for an experienced accountant to join our Finance team during an exciting growth phase. You will report directly to the Financial Controller and support accounting and reporting for two UK and seven foreign legal entities. As a key senior team member, you should be technically proficient, driven, enthusiastic, detail-oriented, and proactive. Your role is pivotal in maintaining our financial health and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial and Management Reporting: Support month-end and year-end close processes by maintaining accurate, reconciled accounting records, providing analysis and reports to support corporate reporting.
2. Audit Coordination: Lead international subsidiary audits, manage relationships with auditors and local advisors, and coordinate audit requests within finance and across the company.
3. Compliance: Ensure adherence to financial regulations, assist with tax filings, VAT returns, statutory requirements, identify non-compliances, and recommend preventative measures.
4. Documentation: Maintain technical accounting memos and policies, and keep the team updated on statutory changes.
5. Process Improvement: Enhance current processes and implement audit recommendations.
6. Team Leadership: Mentor junior team members and foster a collaborative, development-focused environment.
Requirements:
* Qualified Accountant (ACCA or ACA)
* 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience
* Strong understanding of UK GAAP/FRS102
* Experience in producing or auditing statutory accounts
* Audit experience
* Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
* Effective communication skills, verbal and written
* Interest in technical accounting topics
* Stakeholder management skills
* Ability to build relationships across all levels
* Organized with attention to detail
* Proactive problem solver
* Willingness to take on new challenges
* Drive for process efficiencies and change management
* Commitment to ongoing professional development
Desirable:
* Experience in the technology industry (advantageous)
* Proficiency in Netsuite accounting software
* Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
