What is the role?
This is an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Fitter/ Operative to join the Tileworks Team based in Harworth. This role reports to the Plant Manager.
The purpose of the role is to work as part of the Production & Maintenance team to ensure that all plant equipment and machinery on site are operating and running efficiently with the minimum amount of downtime and they are kept in safe and good mechanical working order.
What you'll do as a Mechanical Fitter/ Operative
Carry out planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance on all plant equipment in line with company requirements.
Monitor machinery and product quality, reporting faults or issues promptly and completing all relevant documentation accurately and on time.
Maintain a high level of technical knowledge of plant machinery and ensure equipment is ready for production following maintenance or servicing.
Respond to emergency maintenance when required and assist with the installation of new plant and equipment.
Identify and rectify air and fluid leaks and ensure all machinery, guards, and work areas are clean, safe, and compliant with H&S standards.
Contribute to risk assessments (RA) and safe systems of work (SSOW) and adhere to all Health, Safety, and Environmental policies.
Support production targets by maintaining equipment to achieve budgeted outputs and quality levels.
Promote Lean thinking, continuous improvement, good housekeeping, and efficient working practices.
Work safely at all times, including correct manual handling, and take care of tools and equipment.
Communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues, maintain a positive team environment, and participate in required training.
Undertake any other reasonable duties as required by the business.
What experience do I need?
Apprentice-trained in mechanical discipline
Maintenance experience and diagnostics of hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical control systems.
Good exposure to health & safety standards
Personnel drive & Continuous improvement techniques
Strong organisational & planning abilities
Possess high standards, a passion for improvement and a target/delivery focused approach
HNC Engineering
IOSH Managing Safely
Full UK Driving License
