Job Overview
The Surgical Assessment Unit at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd requires Band 2 Health Care Support Workers. The successful applicant will join a supportive and dedicated team. They should have some experience in care, preferably in a hospital environment, with excellent communication skills, initiative, and organisational skills. Training, mentorship, and support will be provided.
Main duties of the job
* Carrying out delegated nursing tasks for patients, including bathing, toileting, feeding, and last offices.
* Assist with intentional rounding, pressure care, and maintain documentation.
* Inform nursing staff of patient issues or changes in condition.
* Recognise and respond to changes in patient behaviour or condition, and urgent/emergency situations.
* Maintain a tidy and clean department.
* Escort low dependency patients to other wards.
* Communicate effectively with patients, carers, and colleagues.
* Assist with obtaining samples and support multidisciplinary treatment approaches.
* Help with dietary requirements and stock management.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
