Reporting to the Senior Architectural Manager, the Architectural Manager acts as the principal architectural contact for designated developments within the region, playing a key role in supporting the design stages of each project.
Working closely with internal teams, consultants, local authorities and other external bodies, you will contribute to the delivery of projects from proposal through to completion, assisting in the development of technical solutions, preparing design documentation, and supporting coordination activities across the project lifecycle. Accuracy, attention to detail and clear communication are essential.
This is a hands‑on role requiring strong technical awareness, excellent organisation and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced housebuilding environment.
Key Responsibilities
Design Coordination
Produce, coordinate, and manage the flow of architectural and technical information to ensure accuracy and consistency throughout the development lifecycle, including for planning applications, building warrant submissions, construction delivery, and sales requirements.
Support the management and coordination of external consultants, including architects, structural engineers, planners, and specialist advisors, ensuring outputs align with Cala standards, programme requirements, and development objectives.
Attend and contribute to project team meetings, working closely with the in‑house Construction team to support on‑site compliance, resolve technical queries, and ensure designs are correctly implemented during construction.
Planning & Sustainability
Support the preparation and progression of planning applications, incorporating energy‑efficient and sustainable design principles where appropriate, in line with Cala values, regulatory requirements, and project aspirations.
Drawing Review & Technical Assurance
Coordinate, review, and manage architectural and technical drawings throughout all stages of the construction lifecycle, ensuring compliance with Building Standards, NHBC requirements, and Cala quality expectations.
Stakeholder & Client Engagement
Work alongside external consultants, building control bodies, suppliers, and clients, attending and leading meetings and public information sessions as required to support the successful delivery of multiple projects.
