Compensation: Based on years of experience and applicable certifications.
Are you passionate about food and nutrition? Do you want to make a difference in the lives of patients and staff? As a Nutrition Services Aide, you will play a vital role in preparing therapeutic and modified diets for our patients, as well as delicious meals for employees, visitors, and special events.
Your Responsibilities:
* Assist in preparing therapeutic and modified diets for patients.
* Prepare meals for employees, visitors, and special functions.
* Maintain inventory and service ware to ensure a smooth operation.
* Ensure sanitary conditions within the department.
What We’re Looking For:
Qualifications:
* License or Certification: Food handlers permit (if required by state or county regulations).
* Education & Experience: Training in food preparation for therapeutic diets, recent institutional cooking experience, and special function cooking experience are desirable.
* Knowledge: Familiarity with food safety guidelines is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
* Good visual acuity and effective communication skills.
* Ability to lift, push, pull, and retrieve objects regularly.
* Safely lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
* Push/pull objects weighing up to 150 pounds with assistance.
* Ability to withstand prolonged standing and walking.
* Reach, stoop, bend, kneel, and crouch as needed for patient care functions.
Working Conditions:
* Indoor, temperature-controlled, smoke-free environment with occasional outdoor exposure.
* Exposure to blood and body fluids may be required.
* Handicapped accessible with potential wet surfaces and sharp objects.
* May work under stressful circumstances at times.
Skills and Abilities:
* Effective communication skills (speak, read, write).
* Detail-oriented with strong decision-making abilities.
* Ability to work independently without supervision.
