Data Engineer and Full Stack Developer Department: IT Employment Type: Full-Time Location: Newcastle (Hybrid) Salary: Competitive, depending on experience About the Role We are looking for a talented Data Engineer to help drive the next phase of Project Helios —our bespoke web application and data platform. This is a pivotal, cross-functional role where you’ll shape and implement our data strategy, working at the intersection of data engineering, cloud infrastructure, and full-stack development. You’ll enhance data ingestion pipelines, build scalable data models, and ensure seamless integration into both Power BI and our React/Next.js web application. Collaborating closely with our Group Data and Technology Lead, you’ll help centralise client, revenue, and review workflows—powered by Microsoft Fabric and Azure. Key Responsibilities Data Platform Development Design and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Synapse. Model and store data using Delta Lake / OneLake, with governance and lineage via Microsoft Purview. Integrate third-party APIs (e.g. Intelligent Office, AJ Bell, Transact ) into the platform. Cloud, DevOps & Governance Contribute to CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, Docker, and Git. Implement secure credential management and monitoring via Azure Key Vault. Document architecture, data flows, and technical processes across the stack. Innovation & Collaboration Partner with analytics, architecture, and engineering teams to enhance data-driven product experiences. Continuously improve ingestion, modelling, and integration processes within the Microsoft Fabric ecosystem. What We’re Looking For Technical Expertise Proficient in React, Next.js, NestJS, and Node.js. Strong experience in data orchestration, modelling, and integration into web applications. Hands-on with Microsoft Fabric (Pipelines, Lakehouse, Warehouses) and Azure services. Skilled in SQL (T-SQL preferred) and either Apache Spark or Python for data engineering. Experience embedding Power BI dashboards into web applications. Familiarity with data governance tools like Microsoft Purview and security best practices. Experience & Qualifications Proven experience in combined full-stack and data engineering roles. Proven track record of delivering integrated, data-driven applications. Experience with Microsoft Azure (essential); Financial Services or Wealth Management background would be an advantage. A degree in a relevant subject would be a strong advantage.
