This role will be based in Warrington, with the expectation of a minimum of 3 days in the office.
As a Packaging Graphic Designer within the GM team, you will work closely with our buying teams to create a variety of briefs, from seasonal lines such as Christmas and Halloween, garden and picnic, to everyday lines such as homewares, cleaning, pet and stationery. Packaging styles include swing tags, wrap bands, backing cards, full colour boxes and CDUs.
The role includes own-brand design and trend-led concepts that will be rolled out over numerous products.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
* Liaising with Buying teams to ensure that product launches are timed with seasonal and promotional events for optimum financial performance
* Creating impactful, on-trend packaging designs to increase sales and customer outreach of products
* Creating marketable packaging to appeal to new customer bases and increase sales
* Ensuring packaging is designed sustainably, to ensure we are following environmental guidelines in a cost-effective way
* Working on a number of different packaging briefs simultaneously
* Liaising with buyers to ensure you hit the sales brief and deadlines to ensure product launches are in line with seasonal events
* Working closely with our Own Brand team to ensure packaging designs are on-trend with upcoming products
* Working effectively in a creative team and to share ideas, Adobe Software proficiency for optimum effectiveness
* Working closely with other designers & GM Colleagues to ensure packaging is in line with upcoming lines
About you
For this role, we’re looking for someone who has:
* Excellent working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and other design products
* Knowledge of market trends for packaging design, and both cost-effective & sustainable strategies in packaging design
* Knowledge of various packaging designs (Swing tags, Wrap Bands, Backing Cards, Full Colour Boxes & CDUs)
* Ability to create portfolios of design work
* Passion for design and excellent attention to detail
* Ability to manage own workload and design of multiple products simultaneously
* Keen eye for detail, quality and marketable designs
* Multiple years of design experience, agency or in-house work
* Experience in Retail Marketing/ General Merchandise lines
