Overview
As a Senior Care Assistant at HC One, kindness will be at the core of everything you do. You will help deliver personalised care in our Dementia, Nursing, Residential and Specialist care homes, getting to know residents and their families to support planning and delivering care that gives residents security, dignity and independence. You will lead a team of Care Assistants and be a positive influence on the team, communicating with residents, families and colleagues with consideration and kindness. You will assist the Registered Nurse and Care Manager, provide engagement through social and recreational activities, and may administer medication. You will maintain accurate records and build strong relationships with the team.
Ideally, you will have completed a Level 2 Diploma in Adult Care and be prepared to work towards Level 3 qualification or equivalent, with a background in person-centred care planning and knowledge of caring for people with dementia. What’s essential is your positive energy and ability to get along with people, strong record-keeping, effective time management, and a consistently kind and considerate approach to communication.
Responsibilities
* Plan and implement the kind of care that gives residents security, dignity and independence
* Lead a team of Care Assistants and maintain high standards of care
* Show and guide best practices in daily activities, including assisting with meals and mobility aids
* Support residents and families, and communicate with them as needed
* Collaborate with the Registered Nurse and Care Manager
* Provide essential physical and mental stimulation through a range of activities
* Administer medications as appropriate
* Maintain accurate records and build strong relationships within the team
Qualifications
* Level 2 Diploma/SNVQ in Adult Care (ideally) and willingness to work towards Level 3 or equivalent
* Experience in person-centred care planning and dementia care
* Strong communication, time management and record-keeping skills
* Positive energy and ability to get along with residents, families and colleagues
