Our Marketing and Communications Team is looking for their new Manager
We’re looking for a passionate and Marketing and Communications Manager to help us amplify our voice, share our stories, and strengthen our connection with whānau, hapori, and stakeholders.
Te Taiwhenua o Heretaunga is a whānau-focused, Iwi-mandated, kaupapa Māori health and social services organisation. For over 39 years, we’ve supported our whānau me hapori to achieve their aspirations and enhance their wellbeing. Our values: Kotahitanga, Whakamana, Kaitiakitanga, and Whanaungatanga are the foundation of everything we do.
About the Role
This role is pivotal in shaping how we communicate our kaupapa, services, and impact. You’ll lead the development and delivery of marketing and communications strategies that reflect our values and uplift our communities.
Key Responsibilities
• Contribute to the development and implementation of marketing and communications strategies aligned with kaupapa Māori principles.
• Manage digital platforms including website, social media, and email communications.
• Lead storytelling and content creation that celebrates whānau journeys and organisational milestones.
• Build and maintain media relationships and oversee public communications.
• Support internal communications and organisational change initiatives.
• Monitor campaign performance and audience engagement.
• Manage budgets and external agency relationships.
We’re Looking for Someone With:
• 3–4 years’ experience in communications or marketing, or a relevant tertiary qualification.
• Strong writing, editing, storytelling, and visual content skills (including photography).
• Proficiency in tools like Adobe Suite, SharePoint, Smartsheet, and PowerPoint.
• Solid understanding of kaupapa Māori, tikanga practices, and local iwi/marae connections.
• Strategic thinker with the ability to manage multiple projects and lead a team.
• Collaborative, creative, and culturally grounded, with a passion for community impact.
