Overview
This appointment is for a Consultant Paediatric Dermatologist on a substantive contract. You will be joining a team of 8 other consultants during an exciting period of departmental expansion. Nominal base to be arranged.
The Dermatology service is a trust-wide service with medical and surgical components. The secondary care service delivers a range of consultant- and nurse-led services from University Hospital of North Durham (UHND), Darlington Memorial Hospital, Bishop Auckland General Hospital and Sunderland Royal Hospital. General Dermatology and Specialist Nurse Clinics operate from all sites; specialist clinics and nurse-run procedure clinics are run from UHND. Urgent Suspected Cancer clinics are based at UHND, with dermatology and plastic surgery staff seeing triaged cases in a single clinical setting, with photographers and operators available to support daily surgery.
As a Senior Clinician within the organization, you will deliver and champion high quality and safety as a clinical leader within Dermatology. The clinical commitment is to provide dermatology services predominantly in Durham but also from other sites as part of the hub-and-spoke model, alongside Consultant colleagues and supported by junior staff.
