Primary SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant in Harborne - Birmingham
Aspire People are currently working alongside a primary school in the Harborne area of Birmingham to find an experienced Teaching Assistant to join their team after May half term in 2025. This position involves working with a young child with SEND needs. The role is in a mainstream class, but experience with SEND would be ideal. It is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am - 3:30 pm.
Requirements of the Applicant
1. Experience/confidence in supporting children with challenging behaviour
2. Comfortable providing personal care when required
3. Ability to adapt to the pupil's varied moods
4. Available full-time until July 2024
Main Duties and Responsibilities
1. Working 1:1 with a SEND pupil
2. Creating a safe learning environment for the pupil and other students in the class
3. Ensuring the child remains focused on lesson plans
4. Tailoring support methods based on the child's mood each day
5. Following policies and procedures in line with safeguarding and child protection guidelines
