Job title:Quality Control Inspector

Salary: Up to £42,000 (depending on skills and experience)
What you’ll be doing:
* To conduct all inspection activities in line with the relevant inspection and test plan with applicable standards and specifications
* Ensure all test activities are completed and compliant in line with relevant test forms as owned by the Quality Control Team
* Evaluate inspection results in accordance with applicable specifications, standards, drawing requirements and acceptance criteria
* Compile and issue all relevant reports in a timely manner and maintain accurate records in the sited format
* Pro-active knowledge and skill transfer within internal teams and with the wider customer / supplier
* Commitment to continuous professional development to PCN level 2 qualification or equivalent (NDE & Visual certification). May require travel to UK training providers
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
* Core trade qualification, time served in relevant discipline (steelwork trades preferred)
* Strong team working, communication and positive professional conduct
* Strong collaboration skills to build effective relationships and manage both internal and external customers
* Basic knowledge of Quality Control Processes
Desirable:
* CSWIP 3.1 or equivalent
* Any PCN level 2 (or equivalent) NDE certification

The BAE Systems Naval weld inspection team:
BAE Systems Naval weld inspection team consists on surface and sub surface weld & parent plate inspections. Ranging from visual inspections both pre and post welding to the multiple NDE methods currently practiced (MPI, Dye Pen, Radiography, UT), you will have the opportunity to enhance your skillset both through on the job training and gaining external accreditation. With a specific focus (but not limited to) structure, steelwork & pipework, you will work alongside an extremely hard working and dedicated team conducting various inspections, recording and reporting results, progressing the build in line with contractual requirements and quality processes across our current programmes such as T26 & GCS.
