We are looking for an efficient, flexible and organised person to join the Cancer team in Buckinghamshire as a Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) Coordinator and Patient Tracker.
The Trust is responsible for tracking hundreds of cancer patient pathways at any time. This requires diligence and patience and good communication skills to expedite diagnostic tests, procedures & admissions, both within the Trust and with other hospitals.
The successful candidate must have excellent attention to detail and good organisation skills. They must be confident in speaking with staff members from a range of multi-disciplinary teams and support the coordination of meetings including live typing of clinical discussions.
NHS experience is desirable, whilst strong IT skills are vital, as well as being able to work both independently and as part of a team.
(Training specific to the post will be organised on appointment).
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for tracking cancer patients in line with national cancer targets and will facilitate data collection for suspected/ diagnosed cancer patients, entering the accurate information onto appropriate database(s).
They must ensure that the tracking issues are escalated to Tracking colleagues when needed.
The post includes providing support for the MDT Co-ordinators when necessary, and data collection for the National Cancer Audits.
This post is key to providing high quality information and ensuring patients progress effectively on the cancer pathway.
The post requires cross site working.

Education, Qualifications and Training
Essential criteria
11. Educated to GCSE standard including English and maths / computer studies or equivalent.
12. Knowledge of medical terminology is a distinct advantage
Experience

13. Experience of managing a discrete body of work to ensure timescales are met.
14. Sound office experience giving a good grounding and background to the tasks.
Skills, Abilities and Knowledge

15. Good keyboard skills are required to ensure provision of an efficient and accurate service to multi disciplinary staff.
16. Clear and concise written and verbal communication to ensure accuracy of information being required or transferred.
17. Knowledge of Trust systems for the day to day administration.
18. Awareness of providing an efficient and confidential service to multidisciplinary teams.
19. Collation and provision of accurate and appropriate clinical and other information for multidisciplinary teams so that clinical decisions can be made for benefit of patients
20. Careful attention to detail to ensure accuracy when retrieving or entering data on cancer database or Trust IT system.
21. Ability to work under pressure and meet timescales.
22. Able to work on own initiative and as part of team to ensure cross cover and all aspects of work are covered.
23. Liaise effectively with Managers and clinicians re cancer patients

Special Circumstances
Essential criteria
26. Ability to travel between Trust hospitals and other Trusts within the Thames Valley Cancer Network to attend Network and MDT meetings and training.
