Role: EHCP Coordinator
Location: Central Bedfordshire College – Dunstable Campus
Salary/Benefits: Salary is between £29,870 and £39,696 per annum DOE and Qualifications, 27 days annual leave plus Bank holidays, People’s pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.
Hours/Weeks: 37 hours per week

About The Role
We are currently seeking an EHCP Coordinator to join our Additional Support department at The Bedford College Group.
As an EHCP Coordinator, you play an important role in the success of our students through:
* EHCP & HNF Student Support – Deliver high-quality, person-centred support for students with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP) and High Needs Funding (HNF), ensuring smooth transitions, ongoing progress, and successful outcomes.
* Review & Monitoring Responsibilities – Lead and coordinate statutory annual and termly reviews, prepare reports, and ensure EHCP outcomes are integrated into curriculum planning and student development.
* Collaboration & Staff Training – Work closely with curriculum teams to raise awareness of EHCP needs, deliver staff training, and ensure effective use of support strategies through observations and feedback.
* Mentoring & Student Engagement – Provide mentoring opportunities, prepare students for active participation in reviews, and support their progression in line with aspirations and individual goals.
* Compliance & Professional Development – Uphold safeguarding, equality, and health and safety standards; engage in continuous training and development; and contribute to departmental meetings and promotional events.
About You
* Qualifications & Educational Background – Holds A Levels or equivalent, GCSEs in English and Maths, and graduate or vocational training in relevant fields such as Education or Health and Social Sciences.
* Experience & Knowledge of SEND – Demonstrates experience supporting young people with SEND and EHCPs, leading reviews and meetings, and working in educational or support settings with a strong grasp of the SEND Code of Practice.
* Communication & Interpersonal Skills – Communicates effectively across various platforms, builds professional relationships, and collaborates with students, staff, families, and external agencies.
* Professional Competence & Values – Maintains high standards in organisation, IT, reporting, and safeguarding; aligns with College values of Student Focus, High Performance, Respect, Openness, and Honesty.
* Adaptability & Commitment – Thrives in dynamic environments, shows flexibility in work patterns and locations, and is committed to continuous learning, safeguarding, and promoting a supportive student experience.
