Staff Nurse

An opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 staff nurse to join a busy orthopaedic /Fracture clinic at the Royal Albert Edward Infirmary, Wigan, The Post is 25 hrs per week.
We are seeking an enthusiastic, self motivated, forward thinking individual who will be committed to providing high quality care to both Adults and children with Trauma and Orthopaedic conditions in a highly specialised area. Working within the multidisciplinary team of nurses, plaster technicians and physiotherapists in a friendly and supportive environment
Main duties of the job
Under the supervision of the ward manager the nurse is responsible for the provision, organisation and direction of nursing care of the patients in his/her care. To communicate effectively with all members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure safe and high-quality care is provided
Have a good knowledge and understanding of wound care and some trauma and orthopaedic knowledge.
To Participate in the assessing, planning, implementing of treatment and care in an outpatient setting

Job responsibilities
To Provide high standard of care to all our patients working with Adults and children with Trauma and orthopaedic injuries in a clinic setting.
To participate and assist with new developments including the Nurse -led dressing clinic and the Virtual clinics
To uphold the NMC Code of conduct and adhere to Trust policies and procedures.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* RGN, BASIC EDUCATION, MATHS AND ENGLISH
* Recent evidence of continuing professional development
* Degree/ diploma
* Tissue viability course, orthopaedic course
EXPERIENCE
* EXPERIENCE WORKING INDEPENDENTLY AND AS A TEAM
* EXPERIENCE IN RELEVANT SPECIALITY
KNOWLEDGE
* Update Knowledge of current clinical and professional issues
* SOME KNOWLEDGE OF TRAUMA AND ORTHOPAEDICS AND WOUND CARE

* Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
* Basic computer skills, HIS

* Flexible and positive approach to work
* Speaks English to an appropriate standard relevant to the role
