Maintenance Technician
Location: Washington
Hours: 2-shift (day/late) or 3-shift (day/late/night)
Salary: £40,000 basic depending on skills, experience + shift allowance
We’re looking for an experienced Maintenance Technician to keep high-volume production equipment running smoothly through both planned and reactive maintenance.
What You’ll Do
Perform routine inspections, planned and breakdown maintenance.
Diagnose and repair faults on hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical drives, and PLC-controlled systems.
Handle electrical issues: motors, VFDs, control panels, wiring, sensors, relays & safety systems.
Support equipment installs, tooling changes, and upgrades.
Work with production to reduce downtime and boost reliability.
Keep accurate maintenance records and follow H&S standards.
Participate in a 2- or 3-shift rotation, with occasional overtime.
What You’ll Bring to the team
Experience in a manufacturing maintenance role.
Strong mechanical or electrical fault-finding skills.
Relevant qualification (apprenticeship, NVQ or time-served).
Able to read schematics and drawings.
Team player with good communication and safety focus.
