Job Summary
PAID OPPORTUNITY (Subject to Funding) I am seeking an experienced dramaturg / creative collaborator to work with me on Until 68, a new ACE Project Grant application in development.
Job Description
About the Project
Until 68 is a raw two-hander drama exposing the hidden toll faced by UK prison officers. Based on lived experience, it combines authentic testimony, dark humour, immersive sound design, and policy detail to challenge stereotypes and call for reform.
Your Role
You'll work alongside me (Overall Director and writer/performer) to:
1. Refine and shape the script (structure, pacing, tone).
2. Balance documentary accuracy with strong theatrical storytelling.
3. Support planning and leading rehearsals with actors.
4. Guide text work, character exploration, and blocking.
This role is essential because of my dance/physical theatre background- I'll rely on your expertise with text and actors to realise the vision.
Who We're Looking For
Dramaturgs, directors, or experienced theatre-makers.
Confident with new writing and actor process.
Comfortable with dark, challenging themes and gallows humour.
Collaborative, sensitive, rigorous.
Fee & Commitment
Approx. £2,000-£2,500 total (8-10 days over 2-3 months).
Flexible delivery (online/in-person if possible).
Paid at industry rates if funding is secured.
Equity, Diversity, Inclusion
We welcome applications from working-class, justice-system-experienced, and underrepresented theatre-makers.
