Area Sales Manager East & West Midlands, East Anglia & Wales – Process Control & Automation
Compensation: up to £50K–£60K base plus open‑ended bonus, company car or allowance, pension, private medical, life assurance, business expenses.

The Role
As a technical sales engineer / field sales engineer you will achieve profitable business sales of the process automation range of products and the full product range into existing and new customers throughout the territory which includes West Midlands, East Midlands, East Anglia & Wales.
You will sell into a wide variety of customer types such as end‑users, panel builders, system integrators, OEMs both directly and via a partner distribution network, while managing an established customer base and accessing information on potential customers for development.
Field based and working closely with the rest of the sales team, sales managers and distribution partners, the role requires good access to road networks, with a central location ideal but candidates anywhere within the territory will be considered.
Responsibilities
* Develop and grow territory customers and relationships.
* Achieve sales targets for process automation products.
* Collaborate with distribution partners to identify and capture new opportunities.
* Provide product training and support to customers.
* Maintain accurate sales forecasts and reports.
Qualifications & Experience
* Excellent communicator, negotiator and presenter, passionate about building lasting client relationships with key accounts.
* Business‑to‑business (B2B) field sales experience as an Area Sales Engineer, Area Sales Manager, Sales Development or Business Development Manager within control & automation, process automation, process instrumentation products.
* Demonstrated sales success, preferably within oil & gas, pharmaceutical, chemical, energy & utilities industries.
* Ideally holding an engineering qualification (ONC, HNC level) in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
* Knowledge of specification, preferred supplier and business win requirements.
