Solution Architect - SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud
Rate: £700/day (Inside IR35)
Contract: 12 months
Location: Hybrid – 2-3 days per week onsite in Enfield

Salt is recruiting on behalf of a London Local Authority that is embarking on a major SAP transformation programme, replacing a 25-year-old ECC system with SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud and SuccessFactors. As Solution Architect, you will provide architectural leadership across Finance, HR, Payroll, and Procurement workstreams, ensuring the design and integration of a stable, scalable, and compliant solution that meets the needs of a complex public sector organisation.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the end-to-end solution architecture for SAP S/4HANA and SuccessFactors.
* Define and document the target architecture, covering integrations, security, and data migration strategy.
* Translate business and functional requirements into scalable SaaS designs.
* Oversee integration with legacy and third‑party systems, ensuring performance and data integrity.
* Provide technical guidance through design, build, testing (SIT, UAT, Payroll Parallel Run), and cutover.
* Govern configuration workbooks, change control, and design decisions.
* Support role‑based access control, GDPR compliance, and segregation of duties across Finance and HR.
* Collaborate with Absoft (implementation partner) and council stakeholders to ensure alignment with SAP best practice.
Essential Experience
* Background as a SAP Solution Architect on S/4HANA and SuccessFactors programmes.
* Understanding of Finance, HR, Payroll, and Procurement (P2P) business processes.
* Knowledge of SAP Public Cloud and SaaS architecture.
* Experience defining data migration and integration strategies.
* Familiarity with SAP Activate methodology and agile delivery.
* Experience working in public sector or other regulated environments.
Desirable Experience
* Delivering SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud or hybrid deployments in the UK public sector.
* Knowledge of local government Finance, HR, and Payroll processes, including schools' payroll and grant accounting.
* Exposure to SuccessFactors and Payroll parallel run validation.
* Familiarity with SAP BTP, SAP Integration Suite, and Identity Access Management.
* Awareness of PSN, data protection, and information governance requirements in public sector environments.
* SAP certifications in relevant solution or integration areas (S/4HANA, Cloud, or BTP).
