The Role We are seeking an experienced and skilled Flat maker to join our production team. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the creation of world-class flatwaresuch as plates, saucers, and traysin our fine bone China range. As a Flat maker, you will play a vital role in shaping the beauty and quality that define our brand. Key Responsibilities Produce high-quality flatware using fine bone China clay Operate and maintain flatware moulds and related equipment Ensure consistency in thickness, symmetry, and overall finish Work closely with colleagues in casting, fettling, and firing to maintain quality and workflow Conduct visual inspections for defects and make necessary corrections Maintain cleanliness and safety in the workspace Uphold company standards for craftsmanship and detail Requirements Proven experience as a Flat maker in the ceramics industry (preferably with fine bone China an advantage) Strong knowledge of ceramic processes and flatware production Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail Ability to work independently and as part of a team Passion for traditional craft and pride in producing high-quality work Creative, likes to use their hands to create artisan pieces Desirable Experience with high-end or luxury ceramics Knowledge of slip casting and fettling techniques Willingness to train apprentices or junior staff Benefits Opportunities for training and skill development Supportive and collaborative team environment Be part of a company preserving traditional ceramic techniques Paycare Enhanced pensions 33.5 days holiday
