Main duties of the job
Lincoln County Hospital Lincoln County Hospital is situated in the uphill area of the city, close to the Cathedral. It is a large purpose-built modern District General Hospital, which provides a wide range of specialist clinical services. It has a complement of 557 beds.
There is a Clinical Decisions Unit (CDU) which is located within the footfall of the Emergency Department at Lincoln and has the capacity to take 2 x trolley spaces, 2 x cohort spaces and 6 x chairs. This area is staffed by 2 x Registered Nurses and 1 x HCSW, 24 hours a day. All patients remain under the care of the Emergency Department.
Roles and Responsibilities
Clinical duties:
* Assessment, management, referral and discharge of patients presenting to the Emergency Departments and Clinical Decision Units, seeking support where appropriate from senior clinical members.
* Collaborating with all members of the Emergency Department team and colleagues from other departments.
* Communicating effectively with patients and colleagues and
* Performing Rapid Assessment and Triage of patients who self-present and those brought by ambulance.

Essential
* Do you have full GMC registration
* Do you have MRCEM Primary and SBA completed (UK) or equivalent
* Do you have Advanced Life Support
* Do you have Advanced Trauma Life Support
* Do you have European Paediatric Advanced Life Support
Experience
Essential
* Do you have 2 years or more Emergency Medicine experience at CT1/2 equivalent
* Are you currently working at Registrar level i.e. able to lead the department as a senior decision-maker
* Can you evidence in your application you are able to perform medical procedures expected e.g. fascia iliaca block haematoma block, common fracture reductions and manipulations, wound management,
* Are you able to undertake initial assessment of cases presenting to the ED
Desirable
* Do you have previous experience in Emergency Medicine at ST3 or equivalent level
Management And Administrative Experience
Essential
* Can you evidence your active involvement in Audit and Quality Improvement
* Do you have previous experience of working with other professionals working in both acute and community services
Desirable
* Do you have experience of leading audit/ quality improvement projects
