Overview
Arcadis Birmingham, United Kingdom is recruiting for a Service Delivery Manager - Water Sector to join our Pump Centre Business. The primary purpose of this role is to deliver conferences, seminars, training programmes and other client/member services, and to develop, retain and expand the Pump Centre membership.
Responsibilities
* Be the main lead in the organisation and delivery of all Pump Centre events including member events and the Water Equipment Show.
* Prepare progress presentations and reports on membership, events progress, and training programmes, and other services.
* Promote Pump Centre services by developing relationships with existing and potential members and external stakeholders to meet or exceed targets (revenue, bookings, margin).
* Monitor events and membership costs and highlight variances to manage cost variables to meet targets.
* Input into business systems (e.g., SharePoint and project accounting) to ensure data accuracy and quality standards.
* Develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of clients and the water sector to identify opportunities.
* Promote continual improvement in SHEQ performance across the Pump Centre and the wider business where appropriate.
Qualifications & Experience
* Significant experience in organising and delivering events and conferences.
* Bachelor’s degree, vocational qualification or equivalent, possibly with/working towards a relevant professional certification.
* Project management experience, including bid preparation, service delivery and event management.
* Good communication skills and ability to liaise with peers and senior colleagues; ability to build and maintain relationships.
* Ability to negotiate and manage relationships with external stakeholders and suppliers.
* Commercial acumen and organizational understanding; excellent planning and organizational skills.
* Advanced proficiency in relevant software and systems; thorough understanding of business processes; proficient MS Office skills.
Desirable/Additional Competencies
* Experience applying independent judgement in leading service delivery in pressured environments.
* Ability to build credible relationships with key stakeholders and external clients.
* Broad understanding of regulated water and water management sectors, challenges and opportunities including regulatory landscapes.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills; focus on health, safety, and people welfare.
* Strong prioritising and organisational skills to manage workload and deliver events and training on time and within budget.
* Proactive, hardworking, and motivated with a positive attitude towards development.
* Ability to work with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders and suppliers; good time-management.
