The Role
The Developer has an exciting opportunity for a Technical Coordinator to join the team at our head office in Longfield.
The Person
The developer is seeking to appoint an ambitious, high‑calibre Technical Coordinator with previous experience of working within a developer, having led the coordination of technical functions across multiple sites.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
* Control and coordinate the production of clear and accurate technical working drawing packages.
* Review and scrutinise design drawings, specification and details for compliance, buildability, and VE options throughout all stages of the design process.
* Manage the external design team and specialist consultants to ensure that all construction documents are provided within the agreed pre‑construction programme and budget.
* Arrange, coordinate and manage all design‑technical meetings with other departments in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring all relevant action points are noted and recorded.
* Utilities and services coordination.
* Consultant tendering, appraisal, and appointments.
* Budget / development fee creation, tracking and reporting.
* Manage distribution of preliminary, construction and as‑built information, addressing department feedback where applicable and producing high‑quality fully coordinated design packages.
* Provide technical support and information to construction, commercial and sales departments.
* Coordinate sales and legal information (e.g. conveyance plans, legal plans, sales plans, etc.).
* Obtain, check, and coordinate information from external consultants, suppliers and manufacturers for supplementing working drawings (joists, trusses, stairs).
* Ensure building regulations and warranty conditions are cleared without delay to the project and risk to the business.
* Keep up to date with correct building products and techniques, current building regulations and relevant supplementary legislation that impact the performance of the required duties.
* Ensure drawings meet all current building regulations and planning requirements.
* Attend and participate in team meetings and design workshops.
* Attend and participate in site meetings.
Experience, Qualifications and Skills Required
* Minimum 3–5 years’ relevant experience working within a house builder / developer on residential projects.
* Proven knowledge of detailed design for residential schemes.
* Understanding of statutory requirements, including Building Regulations, NHBC Standards, with an ability to interpret and negotiate compliance.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Understand design and technical processes.
* Self‑motivated, enthusiastic, with outstanding communication skills and a keen eye for detail.
* Qualified as a civil/building engineer, architect or construction‑related degree level, or HNC/HND in a built environment.
* Be able to understand and interrogate design, project programmes and critical paths.
* Full UK driving licence.
* Strong communication and listening skills.
* Methodical, organized and works to a high standard.
* Proficient IT skills and good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Type: Full Time, Monday to Friday 08:30am – 05:30pm.
