The Role
Purpose of the role: You will enhance the delivery of complex projects through project controls, acting as a senior leader advancing the discipline within Laminar and the wider industry.
Your team: This role sits within our Project Management Consultancy, focusing on identifying real project problems, implementing solutions, and developing scalable best practices, tools, and technology. You will be part of the Project Controls Discipline Team, led initially by one of our discipline directors.

Your top five responsibilities:
* Own the controls: cost, schedule, change and risk on one or more projects to enable accurate decisions for project teams
* Develop everyone: maximise development of your team and educate clients to improve as well
* Make scalable solutions: develop scalable and repeatable best practices and tools with the team for long-term impact
* Report and inform: provide simple actionable reports to stakeholders at all levels
* Own the outcome: ensure the project’s understanding and focus on the plan, supporting the team in staying on track
Must have:
* A construction engineering background with solid capability in cost, schedule, and change control and experience in developing project controls processes and reporting aligned with objectives
* Communication skills: ability to engage construction teams, drive adoption of new approaches, and promote best practices
* Leadership capabilities: proven leader, coach, and developer of high-performing planning and controls teams
* Impact: track record of implementing scalable, repeatable solutions across complex projects

What kinds of projects would I be working on? You’ll be exposed to several projects in your first year, including some of the world’s most complex environments. Laminar has delivered over 100 data centres internationally and supported flagship infrastructure programmes and large-scale energy projects. You might work in data centres, infrastructure (defense, rail, highways), high tech, or complex buildings. You’ll help capture lessons learned for knowledge sharing and product development.
Who are our clients? Major owners/operators and main contractors with project values between £1m and £1bn+ globally.
Where would I be working? A mix of remote work, site visits, and occasional travel to client sites or offices depending on project needs.
