Enhanced Care Mental Health Nurse (Band 5)

Ashford & St. Peter's Hospitals are expanding their Enhanced Therapeutic and Observation Care Service (ETOC) and are recruiting for Enhanced Care Mental Health Nurses (Band 5).
Reporting to the Enhanced Care Lead, successful candidates will form part of a flexible rota to provide a high standard of individualised direct patient care for those requiring an enhanced care plan.
Under the supervision and guidance of the ETOC leads and Senior Mental Health Nurses, successful applicants will work closely with the relevant specialist teams such as the Psychiatric Liaison Team, ward/unit teams and wider MDT to deliver direct patient care in a variety of settings across the Trust, including Urgent Care, Older Person's Care and Paediatrics.
Applicants must have current NMC registration and experience in an acute mental health setting.
Main duties of the job
* Providing enhanced therapeutic observations and care for patients requiring a higher level of intervention, supervision, and support (including continuous, within eyesight or within arm's length observations, bay watch or cohorting).
* Planning, implementing and assessing direct patient care for a variety of patients. This may be due to the patient being at risk of injury or harm to themselves (for example, due to a fall, self‑harm, deteriorating mental health condition, emotional dysregulation or behavioural disturbances, dementia, substance misuse, delirium or absconding) or to other patients or staff (for example, physical violence, damage to property or equipment).
* Being flexible and adaptable to work across different clinical settings depending on the needs of the service.

Attitude, Behaviour and Values
* Flexible in attitudes and behaviours to support team working and delivery of objectives.
Qualifications and Further Training
* Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN).
* Educated to degree level or willing to work towards it.
Experience
* Minimum of six months post‑grad experience.
* Experience working with mental health patients.

Compensation
£33,677 to £40,996 a year, pa inc. HCAS (pro rata for part time).
