ICAMHS & Unscheduled Care Service provides comprehensive accessible services to health care professionals and their patients throughout GG&C. Covering all Emergency Departments, General Hospitals, OOH GP’s, Scottish Ambulance Services, Police, Mental Health assessment and In-patient Units and Locality CAMHS Services. The service provides patients with high quality clinical care delivered through comprehensive psychosocial assessment, evidence based interventions simultaneously with ongoing risk assessment.
The service provides emergency, secondary and unscheduled mental health care to young people aged up to 17yrs inclusive, experiencing mental health crisis or requiring additional intensive supports.
Providing a comprehensive approach to care, rapidly responding to people in acute mental health distress, until the crisis has been resolved or no longer requires additional urgent/intensive supports and the patient is linked to on-going care. Care will be delivered on the basis of least restrictive options and aim to offer minimum disruption to the lives of the patients, offering a credible alternative to hospital, when safe to do so.
