Job Title Strategic Product Manager Secondment Grade 7 - £66,627 - £85,845 Consultation grade - subject to formal evaluation under the Pay Equity Review Working 36.5 hours per week We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking leader to cover the Strategic Product Manager role for a 12-month period. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key part in delivering Birmingham City Council’s digital ambitions, shaping the vision, strategy, and delivery of digital products and services for our citizens and employees. As a Strategic Product Manager, you will act as the main liaison between digital, data and technology services and business areas, ensuring our products and services are user-centred, innovative, and continuously improving. You will work closely with senior leaders and stakeholders to champion product and user-centred design thinking, agile ways of working, and drive transformation across the council. Main Duties and Responsibilities Lead engagement with senior leaders, service managers, and external partners to understand needs, prioritise work, and communicate progress. Directly lead multidisciplinary product teams, fostering a high-trust, empowered, and inclusive culture. Champion user-centred design, agile delivery, and continual improvement. Oversee complex, interdependent products and services, managing risks, dependencies, and budgets. Build and develop internal product management capability, supporting the professional development of the team.
