Business Analyst – Insurance Technology & Data Solutions (Permanent)
We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to join a dynamic team supporting insurance technology and data solutions across the Lloyd’s and London Market value chain. This role will focus on enhancing underwriting, pricing, policy administration, exposure management, and post-bind operations to ensure systems, data flows, and processes effectively support business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Business & Systems Analysis:
* Analyse end-to-end underwriting and policy lifecycle workflows.
* Document business requirements, functional specifications, and technical data mappings.
* Translate business problems into scalable system and data solutions.
* Conduct impact analysis for system or process changes.
* Perform system configuration, user administration, and troubleshooting.
* Monitor system health, data flows, and integrations.
* Support core policy administration, underwriting, and delegated authority systems.
* Ensure system configuration aligns with underwriting guidelines and regulatory standards.
* Streamline data capture and processing across open market and binder business.
Data Transformation & Data Quality:
* Support and design data transformation logic, including bordereaux validation and cleansing.
* Analyse and map data across risk, exposure, pricing, and operational datasets.
* Work with ETL pipelines, data warehouses, and reporting tools.
* Champion data quality, lineage, and governance.
* Ensure compliance with market modernization initiatives (e.g., Blueprint Two, CDR).
* Liaise between underwriting, exposure management, actuarial, finance, and IT teams.
* Support change adoption through training and documentation.
* Assist in developing end-to-end data reporting pipelines.
Requirements:
* Degree in Business, Information Systems, Insurance, Data/Technology, or equivalent experience.
* 6–10 years’ experience in business analysis, data analysis, IT system management, or insurance systems/product owner roles within Lloyd’s or the London Market.
* Experience with policy administration systems, bordereaux processing, and ACORD/eMessaging standards.
* Expertise in business requirements gathering, process modelling, data mapping, transformation, and validation.
* Understanding of ETL processes, SQL, and analytical tools.
* Knowledge of insurance value chain data flows and solution design balancing business needs with system constraints.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and insurance systems.
* Strong communication skills with both business and technical teams.
* Commercial awareness and strong problem-solving ability.
